getElementById(”toolBoxShareMenu”));K enough economics 101 already. The reason I mention all this stems from an offer made by Ubuntu head honcho Mark Shuttleworth to put some of his staff to work on the Debian distro to help Debian developers get ready for a proposed code freeze in December. Underlying this is a desire on Shuttleworth’s part to get as many distros release cycles as possible “in sync” which would Shuttleworth believes benefit the entire Linux community — from the distros themselves to upstream developers and end users.

How To Create A Portable Ubuntu Installation USB n The Mac
Ethiopian Review
The only option to get it up and running ? without the need to buy (or borrow) an external optical drive ? is to install the S via a USB thumb drive. Armed with my faithful MacBook an internet connection and a 2GB USB flash disk; I set out on an adventure to bring my daughter?s future netbook alive. Deciding on the SIt didn?t take long for me to decide to install Ubuntu on the netbook. Free would be the first reason and familiarity is the second. I?ve tried Ubuntu before and I have the installation CD with me. As naive as it sounds some people still think that you can just copy and paste the content of the CD to the USB drive and boot the machine with it. That?s why my first quest is to find out how to transfer the installation ability of the CD to USB as a portable Ubuntu installer – the Mac way of course.

The hard drive has been checked out by a software program from the model’s manufacturer. No USB peripherals are plugged in (except for the keyboard and mouse that came with the system). But even after all that — and my willingness to sacrifice the contents of the built-in hard drive (all my data is always stored on an external USB hard drive) — I still can’t get Windows Vista or Windows 7 to install or run even though the open source. In desperation I did contact Acer by e-mail only to be informed that I would have to part with $60 for a half-hour of time with a telephone tech support representative to get any official help.

The offer is designed to help Debian hit a proposed code freeze date for the next version of the Linux distro in December. Shuttleworth said the diversion would mean “we’ll get less done” on Ubuntu which is based on Debian.
